Right before bed last night I caught a bit of Jon Batiste on Austin City Limits (the show was from 2021 I think). He led with Beethoven's Fur Elise, and proceeded to turn it into a phenomenal blues-tinged improv session. The best jazz and classical musicians spend many hours daily practicing their technique, exploring new avenues of expression until they become second nature - craft and creativity combined.
